SCRIPT + SPEECH
On this Script Document, write notes about your Architecture Project. This will help you develop a speech in a logical order.

A script will help you do a better speech than not having a scripted speech, don't just wing it.

ENGAGE YOUR AUDIENCE
Think carefully about your audience when your writing your script. Choose good words & images of your Architecture Project so that its interesting to them. Think about the purpose of your speech. What are you hoping to inform, advertise or persuade?

STRUCTURING YOUR SPEECH
Keep the structure simple to help the audience follow your points & ideas. Think about what points are more important & focus on them.
You might want to put the most important points near the beginning of the speech. Your speech has to be at least 4 minutes long.

THE 1st MINUTE OF YOUR SPEECH
Start your speech with an opening that hooks your audience. Get their attention. Present your design with confidence, dont fake it.

KEEP YOUR AUDIENCE ENGAGED
Keep your audience mates engaged during your speech, make key points memorable.

THE ENDING
How will you finish your speech? Take the final opportunity to demonstrate the purpose of your speech.

TO SUMMARISE
An effective speech takes careful planning. Prepare what you are going to say, the order in which you say it.
Pick a selection of visual content you created during your Architecture Project to present during your speech.
Practice your speech before you do it for assessment. For a Merit grade your speech needs to be 'convincing'.
For an Excellence grade you need to command the attention of the audience with a slick speech that has purpose.

HOW TO WRITE A PERFECT SPEECH

Watch this 4 minute long video on how to write a speech. It’s based on political speech’s but the principles are the same for all speech's. Key themes: Tell a story. Make it bigger than the now. Keep it reel. Tell good jokes. Know your audience. Best way to start.
